Solar Power - Lighting the way towards a sustainable future

Monday June 22nd 2009,  Faculty of Law,  University of Cambridge, UK

The Cambridge University Energy Network (CUEN) is proud to present the 2009 Cambridge Annual Energy Conference – “Solar Power – Lighting the way towards a sustainable future”.

During this current era of rapidly growing energy demand and the depletion and environmental problems associated with the use of fossil fuels, much research and development is being undertaken in the renewable energy sector, of which solar power, in the form of photovoltaics (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP) technologies, is the fastest growing. The Solar Power Technologies conference aims to highlight the ground-breaking technical research being carried out in this field, in Cambridge and other academic institutions, as well as industry, and address and propose solutions to the economic and political hurdles that the implementation of solar power technologies would face. This event follows our highly successful Clean Coal Technologies conference last year, which included 130 attendees from academia and industry. More information about this event can be found on our website http://www.cuen.org.uk.
